Alanis Morissette will mount an
online blitz in the coming months, offering
free streaming audio versions of songs, custom video compilations
and exclusive tracks.
The Alanis Unplugged "extravaganza" will begin with a
full-length streamin
audio preview of the song "Uninvited" unplugged. The
Unplugged version of
"Uninvited" will be made available in a number of
formats.
An exclusive version of "Thank U" not included on the
Unplugged CD, will be available as a full-length, secure download
to consumers who preorder Unplugged, or who buy either of Morissette's two previous CDs or
her "Jagged Little Pill Live" home video.Other exclusive
downloadable tracks will be made available on a number of retail
websites to fans who buy other Morissette products.
A new Video Custom Disc will allow fans to create a CD-ROM of four
Morissette videos for $6.99, Welt said. Fans can choose from 10 of
the singer's videos for songs such as "So Pure" on the
Tower Records website (www.towerrecords.com)
or Morissette's site (www.alanismorissette.com)
and arrange them in any order; they can also choose from three
pieces of cover art.
"That I Would Be Good," a single from Supposed
Former Infatuation Junkie, will be sent to more than 5,000 movie
theaters in December, to be played between movies, The song also
will be included on the TV drama "Dawson's Creek" and in
commercials for "Felicity," also will be added to the
soundtracks to the clothing stores the Gap, the Limited and Banana
Republic.
Maverick will send radio stations both a studio and an
"Unplugged" version of the single.
